QTR-Quadtone RIP

I seriously want to buy this Rip but need some input first. I posted
the following 10 days ago and have had zero responses. Did my post
break some rule?

"I know that this august body may be slightly biased, but I would like
some input.

I currently own an Epson 3800 and have Imageprint as my RIP. I have a
friend that swears by the B&W quality of his Quadtone RIP. My question
then is what are the pros and cons of each. I would consider a second
purchase of this type of app since 50% of my output is in B&W, but I
also worry whether they could play nicely together on my Mac.
