Does Sorry, beyond my paygrade...my computers (os9, osx, winXP) could not see the printer through the USB port at all. May not be your USB port if you can do nozzle check from the computer...if you have access to a WinXP box you could try the parallel port and see if you have the same problem. Network card was really cheap on ebay (~$20). Hopefully someone can help you with the issue you are having.
