How is the printer connected? USB, Ethernet? And, how did you set the printer up? My 7600 is setup on ethernet and I use it over appletalk and ip. I have had problems with Bonjour printers. Keep a sharp eye on the print queue. Usually the queue with flash up a meaningful message for an instant before aborting the job. There is also a way of looking into the system logs to figure out what is going on but it gets pretty geeky.
