OS X Leopard Problems?

OS X Leopard Problems?

2007-11-12 by tetontommy

Hello all,
I have an Epson 7000 with K6 inks. I just updated to Leopard and went the the QTR page
and installed the latest version of QTR as well as the patch. WHen I go to print everything
works and the printer queue show the file printing, finishing, but nothing happens with the
printer. I've tried restarting the computer, and printing with CS2 instead of CS3. No luck.
Just wondering if anyone else has had problems, or knows of any fixes. Thanks for your
help.

Thomas

Did you re-install the curves?

Or, if you are using the pre-installed curves, did you choose the
curves in the print driver?

Yes, I reinstalled curves ( just did it again to be sure) All the settings seem to be correct,
and that is what has me confused. The information goes to the printer in the OS printer
window, and shows 13% or some number and then says done, but no activity at the
printer.

thanks

How is the printer connected?

USB, Ethernet?

And, how did you set the printer up?

My 7600 is setup on ethernet and I use it over appletalk and ip.

I have had problems with Bonjour printers.

Keep a sharp eye on the print queue. Usually the queue with flash up
a meaningful message for an instant before aborting the job.

There is also a way of looking into the system logs to figure out
what is going on but it gets pretty geeky.

You have to uninstall all QTR (make sure you save your custom curves), then reinstall, then install the curves. I had the same problem until I did this and fixed it with no problems.

James,
First, thanks for your help. I am connected via USB.
Curves are selected in QTR. I am printing to a roll of
paper with Roll Auto Cut selected on printer, and Roll
Cutter On selected in QTR.
QTR sends the job to the queue, but it is not really
processed. It sits there for a minute and disappears.
No sign of any activity with the printer during this
process.

Thanks for your help.

I thought to try this, but when I clicked on QTR
uninstall it said I had a newer version of QTR and the
uninstall could not be preformed. I assume the newer
version is the patch I installed.
Is there a way to manually uninstall?

Thanks
thomas

Hey everyone. I'm up and working again. I went into my
printer list. Deleted my Quad7000 and reinstalled QTR
and the patch. That seemed to do the trick.

Thanks to everyone for your help.
