The Print Fix Pro spectro I have is a modestly priced unit that will read color patches fine, but is does not include a "strip reader" that makes reading MUCH faster. With B&W, a 21-step test strip is all I find necessary to read. This only takes a minute to manually read. With color, 21 to the third power (9261) is what might be needed for an equally good color profile. That's an enormous number of patches to manually read. The color profiles I've made using just a couple hundred patches have not been very impressive. For really good color, you need a strip reading spectro and lots of patches. (A software approach that uses an iterative process might also be best, but I'm not sure which if any do this.)
