I guess you are using a Mac? I have no trouble in printing from LR. Under "Print job/ Color mangement/ Profile" I use "Manged by printer" and this works for me. I print images converted to greyscale in LR and images that are true greyscale when imported into LR (scanned negatives). - QTR appears in the drop down "print" dialog where you choose curve/paper type.
