Re: Installing QTR on MAC Tiger OSX

2005-08-09 by Scott Graham

First you install QTR which it sounds like you have done,

and then you have to install the profiles. In the downloaded install folder (directory) there
is a profiles subfolder. Within the profr folder is a folder for each printer/ink combination.

Pick the right combo, 4800 with UC inks for example, and install the profiles. There is an
installer in the folder that you choose.

When the curves install the printer installs in OSX---it is all automatic, and so different
from std OSX adding printers. The printer (Quad4800 for ex) will just appear in the printer
list. It won't appear before the profiles are installed. i.e. installing QTR alone does not
give you a printer either installed or available to install.

And then print like to any other printer: in PS use print with preview, same as source (97%
sure about that, check the instructions) and select the printer Quad4800 and paper both in
page setup. Click print and the print driver comes up; select the printer again (Quad 4800
RIP I think) and the QTR options come up: media, ink, curves, etc.

If you want more detail most or all of this is in an instructions set with the QTR download I
think. Regretfully I haven't really had time to use it what with shows coming and groups
to mod, etc. But you can get more help from the people here if needed.
