QTR-Quadtone RIP

I must be missing something? Brain perhaps!! Spent all weekend on this!! 

How do I take the .txt file that I've edited and convert it to a .quad file? I am on a Mac so, I 
can't use the Create Curve Application. 

Also, is there anyway to take a .quad file and turn it into a .txt file to edit as a starting point 
with a given Ink Paper combination?
