Re: Calibrating for Ultrachrome inks

I'd like to add to my original post:

It seems that the 26-page "Quad Tone RIP User Guide" also available from the QuadtoneRip web site is the most complete guide to the Calibration and Linearization process. However I find that it is (a) not Mac-oriented and thus somewhat difficult to translate some of the steps, and (b) almost 4 years old and maybe not up-to-date with the current downloads and software/hardware changes.

A friend of mine and I spent hours pulling our hair out trying to work through even printing our first set of calibration prints until we realized whole pages in the guide could be skipped by just opening up the Ink Pattern Page in Pshop and using the Print command to proceed. Ouch!

The "Basic Tutorial QuadTone RIP on Mac OS X" guide is very useful but only covers the printing of an image through Pshop and the QuadTone driver. It stops short of calibration and linearization.

So... I just wanted to append my previous message to let you all know that I am familiar with these guides but have found them to be tough to understand and translate, and somewhat of a dead-end for me.

Again, thank you for any help and assistance.
