CURVES

2005-08-27 by Peter Mc Mahon

Stephen,
yes to all.
I ended up deleting what I had done and started again. The following is
what I am doing, see if you can see what the problem may be.

I have dual monitors, so opened unzipped text curves ex Carl, so I can
see and confirm what I am transferring. The following are the named four
curves.
._UC-IlfordSmPearl-neutralcolour.txt
._UC-IlfordSmPearl-Sepia.txt
._UC-IlfordSmPearl-Sepia2.txt
._UC-IlfordSmPearl-Warm.txt
Open QTR, open "Curve Creation" File/open from the Quad 2400 folder ex
Carl selected the first curve -neutral, entered into "File Name" , "File
Type Ink Descriptor etc. clicked open.
Curve Creator showed on top bar the named neutral curve/ clicked create
curve/graphs show for neutral curve etc.
I assume that the creation has now been made, as the named curve shows
in the curves box in QTR. so click x to exit curves box.
I then repeat the operation for the next three, and they all show as loaded.
So, why are all the 4 curves showing the same curve when you right click
them? am I not completing the exercise correctly?
thanks for being patient.
regards,
Peter.

Are all the curves you right click on the same? You might check the file
creation dates. The curves supplied in the install should be dated earlier than
the ones you created. You did make sure the file names of the new curves were
different, didn't you?

Carl & Stephen thanks.
Stephen,
did as you said and they installed. However, I ran a test print with a
sepia curve, slightly dark, but should be ok with small adjustment. Ran
a second print with another curve, cool this time. Image printed exactly
the same as the first, sepia.I right clicked all the curves[4] to check
and the four curves are all the same.
Your help would be appreciated, as to where I may have gone wrong.
regards,
Peter.

Open them in the Curve Creator part of the application and press the Create
Curve button.
