I'm new to QTR and have been playing with the curves function to try and get proper white to black using the 100 tone file. I'm having a bit of a problem getting pure white in the 1% box. The most linear tones above that (2-40%) leave the 1% just a barely visible contrast from paper base white. For photo work in the real world, is 1% supposed to be pure white, or should it be very subtly gray?
