Jakub I purchased a 3880 a couple months ago and had a similar problem getting QTR to recognize the printer. I contacted Roy Harrington and he pointed me in the right direction: "I did some checking with the 3880 and it appears to be compatible with the 3800. I assume you are on a Mac. To use the 3800 driver you just need to pretend the printer is a 3800. Look at Tutorial.pdf on the last page -- it's labelled Bonjour but the same idea works for what you want. Create a printer named Quad3800 using QuadToneRIP 2.6 3800 but connected to your 3880. Then you can run: /Applications/QuadToneRIP/Profiles/3800-UC/Install3800.command" This worked for me. I'm on a Mac with Snow Leopard. Gary --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, Jakub Vosahlo <vosahloj@...> wrote: > > Hi, > > Please, could someone guide me a bit how to get the 3880 working with QTR? I hear there is a workaround possible, however I have absolutely no previous experience with QTR, RIP nor professional printing, so the QTR documentation is my only lead. > > I am able to measure the target with my Spyder3, but I have absolutely no clue how to install the custom curveĀ ? All my erratic attempts and experiments and with the message from the install script telling me that QTR does not support 3880 printer... > > I would more than appreciate a quick list of how to proceed. > > Thanks a lot, > > Jakub >
