Re: Workaround for Epson 3880

I purchased a 3880 a couple months ago and had a similar problem getting QTR to recognize the printer. I contacted Roy Harrington and he pointed me in the right direction: "I did some checking with the 3880 and it appears to be compatible with the 3800.
I assume you are on a Mac. To use the 3800 driver you just need to
pretend the printer is a 3800. Look at Tutorial.pdf on the last page -- it's labelled
Bonjour but the same idea works for what you want. Create a printer named Quad3800 using QuadToneRIP 2.6 3800 but connected to your 3880. Then you can run:
/Applications/QuadToneRIP/Profiles/3800-UC/Install3800.command"

This worked for me. I'm on a Mac with Snow Leopard.
