I installed PhotoPrint the Windows GUI for Gutenprint and it drives the HP Officejet Pro K5400 with the K60 driver. There must be more possible like that. I think that the interesting printers can be in the Officejet and the slightly older Designjet class. The B9180 and the Designjet Z models are already quite good at B&W printing and I fear that the calibration/linearisation already integrated may not work with custom inksets so not really much to gain there. The 4-6 ink models could be more interesting. Have you seen some features of PhotoPrint? The ink control that exists, GCR etc? There's a video on the site that shows some of the controls. In no way equal to QTR but probably more tools to adapt to a custom inkset than a normal HP driver would allow. -- Met vriendelijke groeten, Ernst Try: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Wide_Inkjet_Printers/ | Dinkla Grafische Techniek | | www.pigment-print.com | | ( unvollendet ) |
