The main difference with QTR vs the Epson driver is that it uses less
color inks --
mostly the grays because that helps in avoiding metamerism.

I use a 3800 and don't see a problem but under magnification I guess you could
see the dots.  I use both of those papers with all factory settings so
if you've
changed settings I don't know if that could be the trouble.

Also, I'm a little unsure of the ink and profiles you are using since I
don't think MIS has Ultratone inks for the 3800.
