QTR-Quadtone RIP

I am new to QTR. I have an Epson 3880. I have read the documentation and read lots of info here. I am confused by the various references in this yahoo group to  Gray_Photo_Paper.icc and Gray_Matte_Paper.icc. There is no information on these in in Tom Moore's QTR User Guide. There is no mention of them on Roy's web site.

How do I use these? Are these strictly for soft proofing in Photoshop?
