Basically that is correct. You would want to select a profile that uses the correct black ink. Generally, you would pick the paper that is closest to the one you are using. That should get you close. If you want to improve on that, frequently all you need to do is either relinearize or create an ICC profile for your combination. I've used the combination of GFS and QTR.
