You can't create a QIDF from a QUAD. But the Quad files are far from
meaningless numbers, they actually describe in detail the ink curves. You
can load them into excel and graph /edit them.

What do you want to actually do with these quad files?

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
