Re: [QuadtoneRIP] Re: Epson 7890 supported?

2011-03-10 by Michael King

Hi Roy,

Great news on the x900 support.

In terms of more inks, I agree people probably don't want more than 7 inks
at one time, but I sure would like to use the other ink channels for
supporting multiple ink sets.

Is it just a matter of supporting 10 bit calibration image rather than 8
bit?
Or is your ink channel handling after 16 >8 bit conversion? Anyway I think
its important we can address more than 8 inks, just not at the same time
:) As a work around maybe you can support any 8 inks at the same time and
have some way to define which 8 ?

I presume we can just do a PK/MK switch with the Epson driver - correct?

So we now can have 11 channels available in the x900s - wonderful situation.
With Jon's K6 inks I can have Sepia, Split S/N, and SE all loaded at the
same time. (Note: For those paying attention to the detail S2 and SE2 are
effectively interchangeable - so these 3x K6 ink sets fit into 11 channels
or 2 sets of K7).

Great news, Txs Roy.

Cheers,

Mike
