Hey,

I'm pretty new to QTR . . . I've done a search but haven't found too much that answers my questions . . . I might be using the wrong search terms.

I have a 4880 with UC-PK inkset and would like to create custom wonderness for Ilford Gold Fiber Silk paper. I'm currently on OS 10.6.8 and using Adobe CS5.

I read this: "Printing the Target Stepwedge Image
Print targets with QTR and all the selections you want to profile or linearize. The intended resolution is very important. The targets are Untagged and should NOT be color managed in any way. Do not Convert an image. Always print with No Color Management." in the Eye-One ReadMe PDF.

Below is the way I'm interpreting it:

In the print Dialog Box

Printer: Quad4880
Color Handling: Printer Manages Colors
Rendering Intent: Percept

But when I navigate to the print settings menu I get a little confused.

Color Matching: QTR
QuadToneRIP
Mode: QuadTone RIP 8bit
Curve 1-3: Do I just select whatever curve-combo I want? (e.g. 50/50 UCPK-HmGloss-neutral and warm)
Paper Feed: Doesn't matter for linearization
Resolution: What ever resolution I select I should always use, right?
Speed: Whatever I select I should always use.

Am I doing this right?

Thanks
T

PS. I guess I should've asked this first... can I for go the calibration and go straight to linearization?

Thanks
T
