problems installing QTR on OSX with Epson R3000

2012-06-22 by dannyvanrijswijk

Hi, unpacked and installed the Epson R3000 printer, installed Epson drivers.
Set-up WIFI connection with my Mac OSX 10.7

Downloaded QTR, unpacked it and it has put a folder in Applications named QuadToneRIP'.
I the 'Profiles' folder I located the 'R3000-UC' folder and I run the 'InstallR3000.command' script. I opened my Terminal, some lines of text and that seems to be it.. ok.
Restart my Mac, opened Photoshop, but I cannot locate the QuadTone R3000 printer in the print dialogue... I can only choose the Epson R3000 printer (which sits there after I installed the Epson driver).

What is wrong, is it the WIFI connection that is not working when I run the 'InstallR3000.command' file? Should I hook the R3000 to USB first and then run the command again? Am I able to work with QTR and WIFI after that?

Help me out! Thanks a lot.

Ok, I found a dusty USB cable and was able to install the script. Now the QTR R3000 appears in the print dialogue.

Another problem: in the QuadToneRip Print Dialog Pane I can work with split toning. I can select 3 curves, but there are no curves to select! No curves there.. Did I overlooked something?
Hope someone can help me out here, thanks for reading.

There aren't any curves in the R3000 folder but it turns out that the
R2880 curves work very well
with the R3000. So simply Copy all the curve files from the R2880-UC
folder into the R3000-UC
folder and then re-run the InstallR3000 script again. This will
install all these curves.

at a guess, there are no curves supplied, and you would need to follow
the instructions for creating your own, or wait for someone to submit
some. (I don't have the latest version of QTR installed, so can't check,
and don't use a Mac so don't know where you'll find the best
instructions for creating curves.)

Thank you Roy and Mike for your help.

I dragged the R2880 curves to the R3000 folder and reinstalled. Now they are showing up!

Danny.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
