2 issues with EPSON R3000 installation

2 issues with EPSON R3000 installation

2012-07-06 by Paul Atlan

Hi all,

I'm trying to introduce QTR to my printing workflow.
I have an EPSON R3000 which I manage from either Lightroom 4 or Photoshop CS5 using OS X Lion.

I've followed the tutorial to install QTR. Wireless installation is a breeze using the printer's IP address. The corresponding QuadR3000 printer is created.

As suggested by a previous poster, I've copied over the icc profiles from the R2880 to the R3000 directory, and installed them using the script.

Unfortunately, I can't get QTR to work. Here are the two issues I'm facing:

- In the color management list of lightroom, I only see the QTR_RGB_Matte and QTR_RGB_Photo profiles. I thought I should have access to corresponding QTR_Gray profiles?

- more problematically, whenever I launch printing (from lightroom and from PS) the printer stalls and I get the following message on the printer's LCD:
        - warning. the media loaded does not match the settings selected. Check the print settings or reload the medial.
Now, to be clear, this is a sheet of paper on which I've just printed using Epson AWB and I've changed NO SETTINGS on the printer. It sounds like the Mac is telling the printer to expect one type of paper and the printer thinks it has another.

Has anybody faced these issues before? I've done the obvious troubleshooting steps, double checking paper types etc ...

Thanks for any help.
Paul

The first issue is unimportant. Initially QTR only had the _GRAY_
profiles, but some applications didn't like them. The _RGB_ profiles are
the same, except reformatted so that all applicatiosn can use them.

Can't help with the second issue, sorry!
