Unable to print QTR "Eye-One" Gray Targets with "No Color Management"

I have tried printing the the "21x4-random" target using Adobe's Color Printer Utility and the file spools and then disappears. I am running MAC OS 10.8.1 and have no problems printing profiles generated from i1Profiler and/or Color Port with the exception of targets generated using black ink only. It seems as if ACPU is unable to print targets that were generated in the CMYK space using "K" ink only. Has anyone else run into this issue, and if so, is there a work-around. On another note, I have made prints using the installed QTR curves for their respective "paper types" and although the linearity of the grayscale ramp is better than using Epson's ABW driver (no detail beyond 93-94% black), the neutrality of the output is very warm. In fact, I have tried over "20 curve blends" in hopes of achieving the same neutrality that comes out of Epson's ABW driver, and I just can't get there. When trying to temper the "warmness" of the "default neutral curve" for Ilford's smooth paper by adding a percentage of the "cool curve" to the mix, the print doesn't get "more neutral" it just becomes cooler. Any suggestions?
