I'm using an Epson 9890. I keep getting an error message that says the paper is loaded incorrectly when I try to load a sheet that measures 44x61.75". I just successfully printed on a cut sheet 44x54.75" and am using the same method (the one indicated in the manual for large cut sheets). Is there a limit on length that's not mentioned in the documentation? Thanks, Heyward

I have received the same message when using self-cut paper on a 4880. It cannot have anything to do with the *length* of the paper --- the printer does not test the length. From watching my 4880, I would conclude that these printers probably measure the squareness of the leading edge. I assume that this is sometimes my problem. If the leading edge (that I cut) is not quite "square" (90 degrees to the side), the printer might conclude that I did not load the paper properly (i.e. that the paper itself is going through at an angle). There might be some kind of setting that tells the printer to relax about these things, but I haven't found it. :-) Myron On 2012-10-22, at 7:40 PM, Heyward Hart <heyward.hart@...> wrote: > I'm using an Epson 9890. You could try turning off the paper align check. When printer is on, go to menu->printer setup->paper align chk->set to off. Then load your paper. Thanks Nick and Myron. Gave disabling paper skew a shot, as well as turning paper size check off. The only solution I've found so far is to load it as a roll with the cutter off and ensure it has a sufficient margin on the trailing edge, about 2".
