2 printers on one machine

2 printers on one machine

2013-01-28 by tvalleau

Hoping someone has run across this, or can forehead slap me.

I have two Epson 3800's hooked up to one Mac, and want to use QTR / QTR PrintTool on both.

Unfortunately, I seem to be able to only access one of them. Is this possible? Some secret? Did I overlook something? Or can you even get there from here?

Thanks

But then, after powering off the computer and printers and starting back up "anew" the other printer became usable.

Sometimes life is good.

I ran into this in our Advanced Imaging Lab. Someone else on the boards was able to help.

in QuadtoneRIP/Profiles/ right click and duplicate the folder where your installation script and curves are stored. We'll go with 3800-UC

This will create QuadTone RIP/Profiles/3800-UC Copy

Rename this to whatever you want the printer to be renamed. Since we have 2 4880's each handling matte black and photo black ink, I have them labeled 4880-UC-MK and 4880-UC-PK.

You will then have to go into the duplicated folder and rename the install script the same way.

You will probably need to turn off the printer you already have installed and run the new install script.

This method should work for both USB and Network installed printers.
