Hi,

I discovered the ICC profiling tool in QuadtoneRIP.
As described, you need to measure a 21-gray target, and produce an ICC profile with these values. (See: http://www.outbackphoto.com/artof_b_w/bw_09/essay.html)

If one wants to make a color ICC profile, he/she has to measure a color chart with several hundreds of patches to get a high quality profile.

My question: I wonder if the quality of such a QuadtoneRIP ICC profile is good enough?? (because of the minimal amount of measured patches).

Hi Ben,

Since grayscale is just one dimension rather than three, the 21 steps
is a lot more
data than most of the color target charts.  (21*21*21 = 9261 for example).
