Installing QTR printers on a Mac... problems

Installing QTR printers on a Mac... problems

2013-07-29 by davidkachel

I recently decided to take another run at QTR and wanted to install/create printers. Short version: it wouldn't work. I kept getting error reports and no printers.
Since no one is going to install all that many QTR printers with any regularity, I will simply report the solution, without bothering to track down the exact cause.
If you can't install a printer, restart your Mac while holding down the Shift key (no startup items and extensions off). Install the printer, then restart normally.
Have fun.

I tried this method safe booting my Mac, deleting the install Quadtone driver and installing again after safe boot. Then run the profile script. It did not work. The same error message saying the printer no found.

I have Epson 3890 (China model, I am in Shanghai), but I named the printer 3880. Roy told me to do so a long while ago. I had to reinstall all my printer drivers after I had system drive probem and could not reinstall the script for 3880. I just reinstalled for 2100, it worked.

I used to have Epson 4000, 2100 and 3890 all connected to my Mac Pro at the same time and worked well.

Hisun
