Mixing Eboni by Weight

Mixing Eboni by Weight

2013-09-04 by Vincent Wan

To mixing Ebony with a scale. Am I trying to get X% Eboni by weight or by volume?

I'm assuming that Roark C6B base and MIS Eboni 100% have different weights / ml. If they don't then there is no difference.

Thank you,

I mix by weight using a scales. I find one that has an accuracy down to 0.1 gram is useful for smaller volumes.

That said, the main thing that makes scales and volume different is the glycerol. Once the base is mixed, the base and Eboni are close enough in specific gravity that mixing by weight or scales produce good results. (There are minor differences, but within a reasonable tolerance.)

Close enough for me.
