Use of Quad Tone Rip in Windows *

I am purchasing a Epson 3880 for black and white digital printing and will be using it with a HP ENVY computer running Windows 8.
Will Quad Tone Rip work with Windows 8?
One person said " Unfortunately I'm not real sure about Windows 8. I think the basic printing works OK but there been reports of some issues on making curves.
