New Version of Print-Tool for the Mac

New Version of Print-Tool for the Mac

2014-01-06 by <roy@...>

There is a new version of Print-Tool available now -- Version 1.1.0
(the QTR has been dropped from the name to reduce confusion with QTR driver)

New User Guide thanks to Steve Gledhill

Expanded Color Management
-- including Black Pt Comp.
-- more soft proofing options
-- updated for the new version of Apple's ColorSync
-- better integration with Epson driver for color and ABW.

Option for directly printing digital negatives
Builtin notification for new versions in the future

Free upgrade to all current users

Simply download and place in your Applications folder.
Completely compatible with the older version.

Roy

Hi Roy,

thanks for the new Print Tool!

I have been printing recently in OS 10.6 which went perfect
today I tried printing in Mavericks again - hoping the new Print Tool would solve the custom paper size issues that I had, but the issues remain:
setting a full 44” width size for the quad printer > printer reverts to letter size
setting a 44” roll size for the epson 9880 printer > printer prints at 93 % (108 cm becomes 100,7 cm)
strangely enough, Gloss Optimiser prints the full width (using the exact same paper settings)
I stopped trying to figure out what I am doing wrong, I just wanted to report it..

It's the same place as always:

You are probably seeing an old cached version in your browser. Hit the refresh button.
(in Safari its at the right end of the address field)

Roy,

What is the link to the new Print-Tool? Looking at the QTR site, only the older version (1.0.9) is available.

Hi Roy,

Could it be possible to separate the 'inverting' and 'flipping' option into two tickboxes in a next release? For single transfer carbon I don't need a mirrored image, and sometimes I only need the flipping without inverting... I know this can be done easily outside the Print Tool but it would be very nice.
I also like the added ABW mode very much.
My ultimate alt. photo printers wish would be to have an optional set of registration marks for multiple layer printing ...

Thanks again for all your work!

I'd like to support these recommendations.

Thanks Roy

Will the new MAc print tool work with the new Epson printers (890s and900s) and the MPS glossy piezography process. Ralph

Roy, I was thinking about maybe a couple of type of registration marks. One, the classical bulls eye target (not sure if that's the name), another could just simply be L shaped corners at the four corners. It would be nice to have the option to set an offeset from the image margins.

Hi Roy,

Something like the photoshop ones will be ok for me. A small circle with a cross. Photoshop sets them quiet near the image borders, inline but at irregular distances from each corner. This is very helpfull to prevent 180 degrees mistakes.
