faded tones

Roy, I had explained my problem before & you suggested that I update to Mavericks, download QTR 2.7.2 & also the print tool which I did. I’m now running Mavericks, 7800 printer with K7 inks, Print Tool & QTR 7.7.2. My problem remains with ‘faded’ tones & lack of contrast. The black does not have the rich velvety black, the highlight are a little burned out & mid tones are weak. I have eliminated the 7800 because Epson did some repair and also the tech aligned the head with his program. The Print Tool is making the image look very high contrast & it is printing like the preview (high contrast) but that is not the main issue as I can still utilize the qtr driver. In speaking to the epson support on the phone we did a number of tests & they seemed to indicate all is well with their driver& print dialogue box but when I printed in QTR the problem remained the same with the prints. Their conclusion was it’s a software issue with the profile. I installed the 7800 profiles & use the Hahn photrag quad. I’m at a loss now as I (think) I have isolated everything I can at this point. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I’m at a stand still. I would be happy to send you a set of prints ( 8.5 x 11) so you can see how QTR was printing before this problem & now with this problem.
