problem with color nozzle
2014-02-24 by Bob Cornelis
I am using QTR to print digital negatives on an epson 11880. One of the nozzles (Light Cyan) seems to be permanenty clogged - one of the pattern lines is mostly gone, but the rest of the LC pattern is there. It’s enough to cause problems printing in color but I am wondering if it will cause any problem I should worry about given how I’m using the rip. Here is my file with ink limits, Light cyan is set to 15. I’ve done a couple of tests and to my eye I see no consequence of the clog, at least no visible banding which would be my primary concern. I’ve talked to the epson tech and it looks after all the testing/maint I’ve done that the print head is bad. I replaced it about 6 months ago ($2500!) and they only warranty them for 90 days, so I’m hoping to not have to buy another print head. #Notes This profile is for UOHP in the Epson 11880.
