Piezography method 3 and custom QTR profiles for digital negatives
2014-03-06 by <gfrancophoto@...>
Hello,
I have been using the Piezography method 3 inkset for digital negatives for Pt/Pd and Cyanotypes and am happy with the quality of the negatives but was wondering if anyone has recently tried to create their own QTR profiles for this inkset instead of using the supplied 1.4 to 1.8 profiles provided with the inkset. I would like to have a method that includes the correction curve in the profile(wasn't this the big reason for using QTR negs over other methods in the first place?) and didn't know if I could expect results that might compare favorably to those achieved using the supplied profiles. I have made profiles from scratch using color inks before and don't mind doing so with the Piezography inks, but just thought I would ask if someone has tried already and liked the results or not before I invest the time. I am using Piezography 3 Digineg ink set on an Epson R2880 and print to Pictorico Ultra Premium(TPS) and Pictorico Premium(TPU) transparency media. I am also considering moving to the new method 2 which would add more ink channels and presumably might make for even better negatives using a traditional profile.
Thanks for any replies,
Greg Franco
