quad stops working in my epson 1430

quad stops working in my epson 1430

2014-03-13 by tom hodge

i was running tests on papers with my epson 1430 (replaces a 1400)
using 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 sheets.. things were going o k, except very top and bottom of vertical print was noticeably lighter than the rest of the image... then suddenly, after changing to a different curve with the same paper, 1430 no longer printed on command... just fed the blank sheet right through.. nothing would correct it; tried emptying printing queue, changing curve, getting out of quadrip... wouldn't print. even with quadrip closed, tried printing thru photoshop.. no luck. epson suggested cleaning the heads 3 times in a row (hah)... finally i did the old 'u r ok' (uninstall, reinstall should be ok) reinstalled printer driver..
prints fine through photoshop.. shoots blank paper through on print command in quadrip... hope you guys can help me.. tom

I've run into this. Restart your printer. Cold restart your computer. If
that doesn't work, take the black capsule! ;-)

Try this: Put a sheet of card stock behind the sheet of printing paper in
the in the paper feed. My 1400 often did the same thing and this cured it.
