Hello, I’m thinking of purchasing a Spyder Studio calibration ( it has a spectrocolorimeter) unit & was wondering if you can still use X-rite ColorPort software to read the QTR charts. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Joel joelconison.com

Hi Joel, I do not know anything about the X-rite software, but the Spyder spectrocalorimeter has its own software for reading the patches. Quite a while since I used it for this purpose, so cannot remember the details. Hope this helps, Cheers Jim Thyer

Hi Joel I have a datacolor spectrocolorimeter mode #1005 which I bought second hand. Before I bought it I contacted Datacolor and explained what I wanted to use it for. They were vey helpful and even understood QTR and its needs. My spctrocolorimeter reads the patches perfectly and produces L a and b readings for each patch. The #1005 model is at least 1 model and probably 2 models older than the one you are considering. The Spyder print software has a routine for producing QTR format results. Very easy to use but feel free to contact me if you need help. Ken
