You can put any number of linearization point in those fields in the windows QTRgui (as long as they are read from even evenly spaced 0, 5, 10, 15, ... or 0, 10, 20, ... densities). The number of input fields has more to do with how the table in the interface was created than any real functional value.
I could never figure out how the "paste values" button works in the windows gui, and always had to type them in by hand. I prefer to create and load a .txt file even when making curves on a windows machine since you can just paste in the density values from the spectro output data file into the "linearization="..." area.
