PK Curves for Epson 4800

PK Curves for Epson 4800

2015-03-02 by deanwork2003@...

Hello Guys,

I just set up an Epson 4800 on Mac Platform, with Photohshop CC and didn't see any curves in the package for PK media, such Hahnemuhle Photorag Baryta, Pearl, etc. All I see is the matte curves that work well with our matt media.

Does anyone know if there is a curves package available for PK ink for this model and where I might find them?

If not does anyone have a custom curve for PK media for the 4800 that they could share.

Any suggestions would be helpful. My email is deanwork2003@yahoo.com

Thanks,

John

Correction I thought I was posting in the piezography3000 group, which is really low traffic. This QTR group has more traffic, but I don't think that it's closely monitored by IJM staff.

I'm sorry I didn't specify that this is for Epson K3 inks on the 4800, not Piezography.

I use Piezography myself but this is for a friend who is using epson color inks.

If I had realised which forum I was posting on in the first place then this may have occurred to me. Sorry.

Hi Dean,

Never had the 4800 so only people with the MK ink supplied curves.
But it turns out that most of the Pro printers are pretty compatible (depending on ink set).

So for the 4800 I'd try the 3800 curves -- all the PK curves should work pretty well at 2880dpi.
You could try various ones and see if there is any difference (probably not much).

Just copy the .txt curve files from 3800 folder to 4800 folder and install them.
