File Structure on Windows

2015-08-12 by jthacker@...

I've been looking through the tutorials and the group but can't seem to find an answer to my question. I'm working on a Windows platform. I keep the qidf files I make in a folder on my data drive. When I make a qifd file and save it using the curve creation software, it shows up in the curves list when I use the print dialog. I've been doing a lot of testing and now want to delete a lot of the "curves" I made during testing. I delete the qidf files I don't want on my data drive, but they still show up in the curve list in the print dialog. I have not been able to find another location that QTR uses to store these curves.

Are the qidf's converted to quad files by the curve creation software? If so where are these files stored?

All tips appreciated.
John

Yes, the qidfs are used to create a .quad file, which is stored in a different place. Take a look at the file path in the screenshot here:

You need to delete the files in the folder for your printer model (all these will/should have the .quad file extension). They should no longer see them your curves drop down menu after deleting these files (you may need to quit and restart the QTRgui).

Win 7 uses a hidden folder. See C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\QuadToneRIP\QuadTone

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
