qidf files location in Windows 10

qidf files location in Windows 10

2016-02-08 by docsock41@...

I have too many curves I've tried out, and I'd like to eliminate most of them. I've been unable to locate the qidf files in Windows 10 so that I can do the deletions. Would someone please let me know where they are stored?

Thanks,

Alan

Have you tried searching for the file extension with the Win10 version of Windows Explorer?

This post may help
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/QuadtoneRIP/conversations/messages/13210

However I suggest you read that entire thread, as the virtualstore thing does work properly in W10, at least not for QTR, and the files may be in and around the specified locations.

Thank you, Brian and Paul.

I searched the Windows File Explorer in my Windows 10 with no luck, and I read the entire thread suggested by Brian. I think that by its very nature, the VirtualStore is virtual and not to be found, or at least I was unable to find it. Any other ideas?
Alan

Try making a shortcut on your desktop with this in it's Properties box:

"C:\Users\[your computer user name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\QuadToneRIP" App Data

It may be hidden, in which case Paul's suggestion should work. It's possible that it hasn't been created yet. It may be that it's only created when it's needed, and nothing that you've done so has triggered that.

I have been playing around with a Windows 10 computer and installed QTR on it.

I find the .qidf files are in

C:\Program Files (x86)\QuadtoneRIP\Profiles\(Printer name, mine is P600-UC)

Unfortunately I have not yet been in a position to try changing them. They can be edited in Wordpad.

Hope this helps when I get a chance I will try and alter some to see the effect.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
