QuadCurve Smoothing

I am using Richard Boutwell’s QTP software for profiling a couple of papers. I’ve used it with success with Eboni inksets. Not difficult and pretty straight forward profiling. Richard, I emailed you about this and thought I’d post here instead in case others do this or have succeeded in this. I created a profile for my paper and have it linearized and installed in QTR for printing. It is a K5 inkset. I also have a toner ink in the Yellow position that is linearized for the same paper. Both are at their maximum ink load. I want to incorporate the yellow channel curve into the K5 inkset for a selenium tone for my papers, so I will have two curves to blend in QTR. A Selenium Curve and a Warm Curve. This is what I’ve done using The Curve Smoothing Tool. I opened the K5 .quad file with Text Edit and pasted it in the clipboard. I then opened the Toner .quad file and copied just the yellow curve portion and pasted it into the K5 .quad file on the clipboard. I then smoothed the curve and printed a 51 step gradient step wedge for linearization. Am I thinking correctly or should I go about this another way? Jared Sent from my iPhone
