epson 4000 profiles

2005-11-29 by Joseph DePasquale

Greetings to all,
New to list, just started experimenting with The QTR. I tried to create my first profile for the new Cranes Museo Max. Unfortunately, I don't have a densitometer. I used my Epson scaner to measure the test strips. Needless to say the results were poor. Does anyone have a proflie for the Epson 4000 for Museo Max? Is there anyway to get a good profile using a scaner? Any help would be appreciated.

A shortcut method to a profile is to re-linearlize an existing
profile. You start by finding a close match with Cranes Museo Max.
Bring up a color file and visually compare the View-Proof Setup-
Custom-Museo Max vs. other profiles that are in the QTR 4000 set.
After you've found the closest match follow the instructions on re-
linearlizing (page 23 of Tom Moore's manual).

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
