Print Tool v2.1.1 and High Sierra issue

I recently upgraded to MacOS High Sierra (10.13.6) and when I load an image into Print Tool it is completely black (the dimensions and orientation are correct). I reinstalled Print Toolbut the problem remained. Separately, but related, the same image in Preview (in the finder) also displays as a black solid. Any ideas?
