Be careful with PSD files in Qimage. Stay with Tiffs. But
there are other things going on.
I have used converted greyscale Tiffs so far in Qimage (older
version) but recently I have seen strange artifacts in the
resulting RGB print files too (with Qimage CM off). Several
months ago Mike has changed the recognition of images without
profiles (or profiles it doesn't know, or EXIF's it can't
guess the profile by). So it becomes more difficult to get
already to printer profile converted greyscales through as
with CM off there are 1 step pixel changes in flat areas of
the resulting RGB print to file Tiff (PS does that too with CM
off I have seen, but Picture Window Pro doesn't with CM off)
and with CM on you get profile recognition problems.
I'm afraid that the Qimage route is becoming an RGB only route
and possibly the conversion to the printer profile has to be
done with Qimage too + the new QTR generated profiles. I have
done some greyscale testing again and it just doesn't work
anymore. Had no time for the RGB route right now.
