QTR-Quadtone RIP

I've been using QTR for a long time on my 9600 and it was totally easy
to install and use.

I just tried all night trying to make the driver work for the
Piezzotone  K6 inks on my 7000 and no matter what I do I keep getting
an error in the printer output dialogue that the printer is not
responding. The printers "appear" to be installed because I can select
them and everything is visible, curves and all, in the QTR print driver.
However, when I went to load QTR and selected Rendezvous I could never
get QTR to show up to add it there. I had to go to USB and scroll down
to the printe type gimp print and qtr. This doesn't seem right but I
can find no specifics on the website about this printer.

My regular Epson 7000 driver is working fine and even with it my
greyscale looks good and smooth with g2.2.

I have tried reloading may times on my G4 and once with my G5 and
nothing is happening. I am wondering if it is just a problem with the
7000?

I can't ADD THE PRINTER in the Epson driver under Rendezvous or IP for
some reason. That is the problem. So, I am not really loading the
correct K6 driver though it is on my hard drive and shows up as a choice.

Am I going to have to go out and buy Tiger to make this work? If I do
I will, if that will make Photoshop recognize the driver.

John,
I am not sure where you are on this, so forgive any repeated
or dumb ideas, but be sure you are seeing the QTR driver not just GIMP. 
Also, be sure that the 7000 is on, and it wouldn't hurt to have
it loaded with a sheet of paper and ready to print before you start
trying to do the add printer rountine.

Well that's very good to know and that it isn't just me. I asume Roy
was using Tiger when he created this K6 driver since it is very
recent. I can't image how complicated it is to make all this stuff
work with all the variatons of OSX. I guess it never ends. I'll buy
Tiger and try that.
