QTR on Tiger

2005-04-29 by curtojeff

Just thought I'd report that I installed Mac OS X 10.4 ("Tiger") on my Dual 2.5Ghz G5 today.
One of the first things I've checked was to see if it would work with Roy's QuadTone RIP. The
answer is that yes, it does, at least on my Epson 4000.

I chose "archive and install" as my OS X installation method, so I lost all my custom setups of
curve combos, etc, but otherwise, it's all perfect.

Tiger seems fast, does some cool new things, etc. The "Spotlight" feature looks like it will be
the coolest bit, but it is taking a while to index my big hard drives. Once it's done, I think it
will be "just right."

I put Tiger on my Dual Mirror Doors twin 867 processor G4. QTR had to be
reinstalled but once that was done it works like a dream. I really don't
detect any significant slowdown with Tiger although that has been
reported as occurring on older Macs.
