question about papers to use with R2400 quadtone RIP
2006-02-06 by David
Hello all. I'm a new group member. I've been doing photography and inkjet printing for a few years now, but I'm completely new to the world of B/W-quadtone RIPs. As I understand it, I can purchase and use the Harrington RIP with my R2400 (with existing matte black inkset), but the image information is processed differently than using the regular Epson printer driver, optimizing it for monochromatic images. I'm wondering, first, about paper choices: right now I mostly use Moab Entrada and Crane Museo II. Can I still use these papers successfully with the Harrington RIP (sounds like the name of a tidal rapid)? And, I've had custom profiles made for these papers. Are they still applicable when using the RIP, or do I have to make new ones specifically for RIP use, or? I'm sure some of this will become clear by just jumping in and working with it, but wanted to know about these things initially. Thanks, David
