Create-ICC input file format

Create-ICC input file format

2006-03-02 by rm9789

Hi,

What should the format of the input file for Create-ICC be ?

I'm using X-Rite spectrophotometer and ColorShop to gather the data.
Copy to Xcel and save as tab delimited. The file has 3 columns:L*,a,b.
I'm on Windows XP.

Unfortunatelly, for some reason, Create-ICC is dropping my hue
information (zeros for a and b). As a result I can't softproof the hue
in PS (tone softproofing and printing works perfectly).

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated,

Roman

Geez I just wrote Roy about this regarding PrintFIX PRO LAB text files.

Same thing happened to me, L was fine but a and b were zeros.

Here's what Roy told me and it worked. Just make sure the file has headers for each
column. If your L column has written L* it will not work. Change it to L.

Hope this formats in the browser - the spacing might be a little off:

L	A B
94.33	0.70 -2.93
90.50	0.82 -2.64
86.33	0.87 -2.32
82.04	0.83 -2.00
77.78	0.92 -1.94
73.79	1.02 -1.71
69.42	1.05 -1.50

...............

Looks like it didn't format properly.

Any way each letter should be over the first charcter of each column...using the above
values:

L is over the 9

A is over the 0

B is over the -

Actually any spacing if OK. You can use spaces and/or tabs.
I think L* is ok, too. It tries lots of heading names: L L* LAB
LAB_L A LAB_A
