New R1800

I just recieved my new R1800. My K7 inset should be here in the next few days. I am anxious to get started and was wondering if there is any point to setting up the printer with the color inks provided in the box. Maybe as a check to make sure it's functioning properly? I know I'll need to run a cleaning on it before I start with the K7 inkset. Should I wait till I have the whole package in place before installing QTR and associated installers/ profiles? Thanks.
