How to install printer profiles created with qtr_create_icc?

How to install printer profiles created with qtr_create_icc?

2006-03-26 by Kip Cole

Well I solved my problem scanning the 51-step random target, but.....

I seem unable to install or use the profiles I've created with
qtr_create_icc. The program (and it's rgb friend) create profiles
with no errors reported. When I right click and select "install" from
the menu I get "No a valid color profile". Ok, fair enough, it's not
a color profile. So I manually copy the file to
\windows\systems32\spool\drivers\color

But they don't show up in Photoshop when i go to print! Any hints and
suggestions most appreciated,

OK, problem solved. Turns out that Photoshop shows the embedded name
of the profile, not the file name. I was looking for the file name
(no, they weren't the same since I'd renamed the .icc file). Never
noticed this before with colour profiles created with i1 since i never
renamed the file.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
