Can anyone give me an idea what profile to use in QTR with UC inks for Crane Smooth Fine Art? I'm buying very few sheets from a commercial house and I haven't tried it before. I've been getting pretty good results on VFA, but I needed a few larger sheets in a hurry. TIA, peter G5/QUAD2200

Hi, I cut the 36" x 44" 425gsm SFA sheets into 3 sheets 17" x 25" and get one 11" x 19" left over.I print on a Pro 4000 with the UC ink. I'm using the EEM cool sepia 50% blend with EEM warm. Can't do as much experimenting as I'd like since the printer doesn't permit smaller than 8x10 and that size is almost impossible to feed straight using this printers front manual feed. Bob

Thanks, Bob. That's really helpful, and it gives me a good place to start. I'm using a 2200 and I can feed quite small bits for tests, though I usually print in differrent locations on the same 13x19 sheet. peter --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, "drnkndisordly" <pcuser43@h...> wrote:

For testing I print multiple small images on letter paper, one at a time. You have to arrange the small image on the paper so that the first one prints on the TRAILING edge of the sheet, and the next pass print up the sheet, until the last test is on the leading edge of the paper. This way the print head does not detect that the paper has been used (is dark) and will accept it. for smaller than 8x10 you can turn off paper size check, etc. Hmmm, haven't looked but maybe there is a "paper used check" or whatever it might be called to turn off? Thanks for the tips. I've never heard of the printer detecting a used sheet. I just print first alongside and then further down the paper until I'm at the bottom, peter --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, "Scott Graham" <gebilwil@n...> wrote: > For testing I print multiple small images on letter paper, one at a time.
