It's new material, and I'll continue to post additional info from time to time. > Obviously you have found that QTR curve creation is not > easily capable of split-tone. If a number of people express interest in the software I've built for builting curves, linearizing, and blending cold and warm curves into split curves, then yes, I'd be interested in making them available. But I'd need to made it more friendly first, since my private version was fast to build but not very friendly. > I was a little surprised that the "platinum" split-tone > profiles in your system uses all gray inks. Can you provide some > more information? The QuadBlack ink set includes blak and 4 grays -- dark and light cool grays and dark and light warm grays. For each paper, I first make a cool curve with black and two cool grays, then I made a warm curve with black and two warm curves. Then for split-tone curves like neutral or platinum, I blend the warm and cool curves using my blending tool, then re-linearize. So any blended curve like neutral or platinum has 5 inks, plus surface optimizer too if it's for a RC paper like luster. A selection of R200/300/320 curves are available, and I'm working on curves for the 2200 printer now. Richard Wolfson Fine Art Photographer, Printmaker, & Digital Imaging Consultant
